If you’re a new recruit, you’re in for an experience unlike any classroom in the world.

If you’re a Mac Lab veteran, you better pay extra attention because the Boss will sic REAPER on you as an example for the newbies. (Don’t say I didn’t warn you.)

So exactly how does a Quest work?

Did you notice that loot dropped when you clicked through, Visitor?

Mouse over the progress bar in the upper left-hand corner of your browser (a rectangle that should say 6/150). You should have 6 Experience and 1 Gold.

In the CIA, you level-up as you learn but—and this is an important but—your level ≠ your grade. We’ll get to grades soon enough but suffice to say, if you’re willing to work hard and play by the rules, you’ll earn an A.

If you want to cut corners and pretend you’re doing the work, you’ll earn a less desirable grade.

We have no homework and no tests. You show what you know in the Mac Lab each and every day.

Relax, Visitor, the Captain knows it’ll take you a few weeks to feel comfortable with this mode of learning. If you’re honest, you’ll do fine; if you’re not, well, you’ll become well-acquainted with Agent PAINE (and that’s not something you want to do).

Alas, there’s nothing you can afford yet in the Market. And I’d say that’s a good thing except that there are items that must be purchased when the need arises such as Pass: Restroom (2), Tardy (g), and Absent (g) (to name a few).

Sick Leave

Even though you’ll soon have more gold than you know what to do with the Captain is a softie and wants to make sure you don’t worry about how you’ll pay for unforeseen circumstances.

Oh, and just in case you want to spend all your gold right away, I should tell you that we have a new mechanic for bonus loot called Honor. For every 4 honor you accrue you will receive a 10% bonus on Quest Value!
