You new kids are so antsy and clumsy you don’t have any grace yet. That’s OK. Training will get you nice and smooth… like me.
Hi, Visitor, I’m Timi D. I used to worry about things more often than actually getting them done. If you are like me then you’ll be looking for some answers before we can possibly go any further. I always want to make sure everything is absolutely perfect. I mean PERFECT. I don’t ever wanna deal with Agent Paine or get rebooted.
One of my problems is often grades are all I think about and that drives the Captain CRAZY. He says, “He’s not concerned with Grades. They work themselves out.” Don’t get me wrong he certainly has high expectations of every person in here, but as long as you actually try you can’t help but succeed. It hard to believe its that easy but it is.
You can review his rubric all the time. It seems weird but in the end it really is this simple!
Grades don’t work so well for… well, for people like us. But the high ups and mucky mucks require us to document your training and progress as a letter. So we have to do it. The Captain hates grades, but it’s just the reality we gotta work with.
Knowing that here you go:
A = You gave it your all. You consistently tried to succeed.
B = Great but… You could have tried harder.
C = No second effort. You didn’t try very hard.
D = Are you kidding me? You are wasting your time.
F = Who are you? You stopped coming to class.
All you really need to know for now is you can earn an A if you want to succeed.
JUST REMEMBER: It’s not about being the best; it’s about trying your best and always looking to improve.

Sooooo I guess there’s no reason to worry about grades unless you waste your time. The Captain wants everyone to earn an A and doesn’t take it well if you don’t expect the same. Don’t make your grade the focus in this class. If it is, that usually means you’ll only do “enough” to get the grade you want rather than giving it your all. You see, we are all capable of different amounts and captain wants your individual best not simply “good enough”.
